The ability to send/receive e-mail is determined by both your system administrator and the features provided by your school's learning management system (LMS). Below you will find instructions for sending email using a variety of LMS's.

**Please note that many of these tools are updated often and the steps needed to perform each function may change. Refer to your Virtual School's documentation for exact policies and procedures.

Blackboard

E-mails can be sent in Blackboard using the "Send Email" link, located in the Course Tools window.

Note: This is not a complete email solution, rather it is a simple form-based email tool that will allow you to create a message and have it sent to an email address specified by the recipient. The user cannot receive or read e-mail with this tool and can only send to users associated with that particular user's Virtual School or course.

To read or receive e-mail users must access their own e-mail account furnished by their own personal Internet Service Provider (ISP), their institution, or by Class.com. The web mail link in the My Virtual School will often be configured to provide students access to this account.

ANGEL

E-mail can be sent in ANGEL to students and teachers within a specific course only. This is done by clicking on the Communication tab and selecting "Send Course Mail".

Note: Course Mail cannot be used to receive emails from outside of the ANGEL LMS. Your emails can be forwarded to an outside email for viewing, however, messages can only be replied to from within your ANGEL Course Mail tool.

Moodle

Messages can be sent to teachers and students from within Moodle a variety of ways depending on your school's installation. Moodle's eMail module is a tool that allows private communications betweens members of the same course.

Another option within Moodle is to use Moodle Messaging. To send a Moodle Message, click the "Send Message" icon next to the user name in the "Participants" block.

eCollege

eCollege allows students to communicate via email with their teachers and other students enrolled in the same course. This can be done by clicking the Email tab, located across the top of the eCollege course page.
