
Class.com Virtual Schools set their own timelines for completion of courses. Class.com courses are designed so that the 'average' student working 'about' an hour a day, five days a week should finish in 'about' a semester. These are obviously and intentionally estimates: one of the main benefits of online courses is that their felxiblity in meeting the needs of the individual learner. Student progress through the course will be determined both by mastery of the material and time invested. Your Virtual School may set minimum and maximum completion guidelines, and may also set benchmarks for progress throughout the course. Minimum completion guidelines generally range from three to five weeks, in order to ensure that students do not rush through courses and have sufficient opportunity to interact with teachers and other students, providing a more comprehensive learning experience. Maximum completion guidelines generally range from six to twelve months, in order to ensure timely progress through the course and to fit within local guidelines for assessment and credit.
