American Literature 1A (English 11A) designed as a semester-long course, helps students explore the themes of technology, language, illusion, and independence through literature. Students read culturally diverse selections, within a variety of genres. Multimedia presentations and audio readings enhance the learning experience.

American Literature 1B (English 11B)
In English 11B (American Literature 1B), students explore American literature about nature, ethnicity, gender, culture, family, and identity. The selections of various genres offer diverse perspectives in history, culture, class, geography, age, gender, and sexual orientation. Students develop critical as well as creative thinking, writing, and communication strategies and skills as they examine the literary treatment of human relations in a multicultural society.

World Literature (English 12B)
In World Literature (English 12B) students explore the universal nature of spiritual and intellectual needs for love, justice, integrity, knowledge, and acceptance. Students acquire a vocabulary of literary criticism and convention by examining literary selections in their historical and cultural perspectives.
