Course Description: In this mid-level web-based economics and personal finance course, students visit a number of locations within a neighborhood setting to learn about different aspects of personal economics and finance. They have the freedom to choose their own path through the course content, which deals with such topics as spending plans and borrowing decisions, career planning, insurance, and investing and other financial services. Students complete activities and projects that apply the knowledge they gain to their own personal situations. This course is designed to meet the needs of most students requiring financial skills or economics credit. Basic computer skills are recommended.

  • Credit cards and loans
  • Creating a budget
  • Making career decisions
  • Types of insurance
  • Economic basics, including standard of living, inflation, and recession
