Course Description: In this web-based course, students read from a wide variety of materials to improve their literacy skills and gain an appreciation of a variety of literary genres. They develop a personal plan for increasing word knowledge and for gaining and using effective reading strategies to improve comprehension and learning. Students interact with their teacher and other students on the Web.

Students may select among many different books throughout the course. Basic computer skills are recommended.
