Welcome to Roll Call, a series where we’ll introduce members of the Class team from around the world. Class is made up of diverse, authentic, caring, and humble people who all have one thing in common; they want to change the way the world learns!
This week, we’re excited to introduce you to Katherine Hyde, an SDR for K12, based out of Winchester, VA.

Get to know Katherine a little more!
Q: How did you get to where you are now in your career?
Before Class, I was an elementary general music teacher for just shy of 5 years. I always had an interest in tech when teaching and would often incorporate it into my classroom. So, when I decided to take a step back from teaching, I knew I wanted to look for a career in EdTech. I combined that with my part-time hobby of retail sales and voila!
Q: What advice would you give to future Classmates?
Don’t be afraid to ask anyone for help! Everyone at this company is so nice and genuinely wants everyone else to be successful! There are no dumb questions here.
Q: We know your 9-5 life, but what’s your 5-9 like?
I have a 10-year-old toy poodle who LOVES walks and hikes, so we’re outside a good bit. Plus, I love to read; I try to read at least an hour every day.
Q: What’s your “go to” dance move?
Eeesh…I retired those after high school show choir.
Q: Morning person or a night owl?
I’m a morning person. I start my day by making a coffee and reading, then taking my dog on a quick walk before hopping on for work.
Q: Who was your favorite teacher and why?
My high school choral director, Mrs. Law. She really took me under her wing when I was in high school and even throughout college. I don’t think I would have been as successful as I was with teaching if I had not had her guidance.
