Class: Cannot add an alternative host to Class created from an existing Zoom meeting

When an instructor attempts to add an alternative host to a Class created from an existing Zoom meeting, the Alternative Hosts field will be locked. Any alternative host that was added to the Zoom meeting will carry over to Class with the title of Instructor in the Class Roster, but new hosts may not be added within Class after the meeting is moved over.


There are two workarounds for this issue.

Edit Meeting in account

  1. Log in to

  2. Navigate to My Account

  3. Click the Meetings tab

  4. Find the Class that you’re trying to add an alternative host to.

5. Click Edit

6. Navigate to Options and expand the menu

7. Add additional Alternative Hosts and save.

Creating a New Class

The second workaround would be to create a new Class within the app, and adding the alternative hosts to that course within the Class creation page.
