Recording

Last updated: May 25, 2023.

Please note that only the active speaker and shared screens are recorded. The classroom tab/gallery is not recorded.

Please note that the recording takes time to process. Please allow twice the time of the recording for processing.

1.

To record a class, select the Record button. Select Record on this Computer to save your recording locally on a device.  Select Record to the Cloud to save a recording in the Zoom cloud.

Note: If the instructor would like to include screen sharing, or closed captioning in the recording, save it to the cloud instead of locally.

2.

Use the pause and stop buttons as needed. These buttons are located in the top left corner of the classroom view.

3.

When recording locally on Windows, instructors will receive a toast notification indicating the recording is processing.

Note: Closing the application before the recording finishes processing will result in a corrupted video that cannot be played.

4.

Local recordings on Windows and MacOS will save to Documents > Zoom by default.  The newly created recording file will be named by the date, time, and Class name of the recording. For example, this recording took place on May 25th, 2023 at 11:38 am (folder name: 2023-05-25 11.38.16 Testing = date, time, and Class name of the recording), and it was saved to the Zoom folder, within the Documents folder.

5.

To find the cloud recordings, login to the instructor’s Zoom account at zoom.us. Select Recordings from the menu on the left. Select Cloud Recordings or Local Recordings to view the recorded sessions.
