Windows: Annotations on Multiple Displays

Last updated: August 1, 2023.

Platform: Windows

Version: 2.15.0 and later

Overview:

Due to a bug with the Zoom SDK, users with multi-monitor setups can only annotate the main display.  This article documents how to identify and change your main display for screen sharing and annotating in Class. Users with multi-monitor setups will be able to screen share and annotate their main display by following the steps below.

Workaround:

  1. Right-click your desktop and select Display settings

  2. Identify your primary display by clicking the rectangles for each display.  In the setup below, Display 1 is the primary monitor.
  3. To change the primary monitor to a larger display, select the larger display and check the option to Make this my main display.
  4. To annotate in Class, be sure to select the main display when screen sharing.
  5. When the screen share toolbar appears select Annotate.  The annotation toolbar will appear and allow drawing on the display.
