Overview

This release is being made available to add additional instructor functionality and to address some high priority issues reported by customers

Features

Instructor functionality:

  • Instructors and TAs will be able to allow students to set privacy mode for themselves. Given the Instructor or TA has given permission, students will be able to turn on privacy mode for themselves, which will hide their video from other students’
  • Introduced the ‘Verify All’ feature to empower instructors / TAs to bulk verify

Enhancements

LTI Enhancements:
  • Inside the LMS, all users assigned to a particular class will be able to:
    • View Class information
      • Class name
      • Meeting ID
  • View all class sessions (occurred and scheduled)
    • Access session recording if one exists
    • Time and date of session
    • Session topic
  • Inside the LMS, users registered as instructors within a particular LMS will also be able to change LMS classes in the following ways:
    • Edit these Class details:
      • Class Name, Class ID, School name, Description, Class passcode
    • Add / Edit class dates:
      • Add or edit these fields:
        • Start time and end time
        • Date start and date end
        • Days of the week
        • Timezone
        • Topic
      • Remove scheduled dates

Roster:

  • Minor UI updates for the Roster

Dashboard:

  • Instructors and TAs will be able to view aggregate participation data for a given class session. This participation data includes:
    • Instructor Talk Time
    • Student Talk Time
    • Times Students Spoke
    • Times Students Raised Hands
    • Avg. Student Talk Time
    • Times Students Gave Feedback
  • Instructors and TAs will be able to view student level participation data for a given class session. This participation data includes:
    • Talk time
    • Focus Time
    • Hand Raises
    • Feedback
    • Stars

Bug Fixes

Sidebar:

  • Resolved issue for instructors who were not able to use the “More” menu from the participants list after admitting a student from the waiting room
  • Resolved issue for instructors not able to admit all participants from the waiting room

Browse the web:

  • Resolved issue where some tablets were unable to load a webpage launched from the Browse the Web activity

Known Issues

Localization

  • Instructors that upload a shared file titled with Japanese characters will display an empty title field

Seating Chart

  • Hand raise seating chart does not sort in chronological order

Teaching Tools

  • When the Quiz dialog is not in full screen, the Due by date is cut off

Sidebar

  • Students lose focus tracking status is not always accurate
  • Instructors / TAs currently cannot use the chat management tool to restrict chat for students

General

  • Intermittently, Video tiles and names do not match
  • Intermittently, students that were verified in the main class will show up as unverified in a Unverified students that rejoin breakout rooms get an error messages from pre-launched activities
  • Intermittently, when a Windows instructor starts a Class through their LMS, Android students apps stop responding
  • Instructor and TA currently do not see the option to admit all users from the waiting room
  • Instructors will see a “Title is already registered” message when editing an LTI entry
  • Users promoted to the Instructor role do not have lose focus tracking
  • Muting or unmuting a specific user from the participant’s context menu does not work
  • Launching Class from an LMS prompts instructors to log into Zoom
  • Instructors are not able to create a Class without a password when using an existing Zoom ID if the Zoom meeting was created without one
  • Instructors are not able to create classes that start in the evening and end in the morning
  • Organizations who have blocked Google on their network are not able to view launched files from Share Files dialog
  • Launch page is not customized according to terminology configuration in admin settings
