Release Notes

Version 2.10 — February 1, 2023


This release includes several updates and bug fixes across the product for admin users, instructors, and participants alike.

Zoom SDK Version: 5.13.0


Below are the improvements that are being made available as part of this release.

  • Available for all users:
    • Users now have the ability to collapse the Front of Class and the Class sidebar to maximize the content viewing area
    • Users will now see notifications in instances where their device CPU is under heavy strain or their network bandwidth may be experiencing issues
    • The Class Whiteboard now supports the ability to upload PDF documents and use annotation controls over the document
    • The error messaging and content for the Class launch flow has been updated in several cases to provide users with greater clarity on next steps to be taken should they run into an error while joining a Class session
  • Available for instructors and assistants:
    • Instructors now have the ability to hide individual chat messages from being seen in public threads
    • The controls for Proctor View have been updated to improve the usability and ensure consistency between the macOS and Windows apps
    • Instructors now have the ability to sort instructional tools by alphabetical and reverse alphabetical order
  • Available for admins:
    • Admin users now have the ability to enable and disable the Share Files tool
    • Links for several LMS tools in the Class demo experience have been updated to point to Class’ demo instances for the corresponding LMS
    • Setup guidance and configuration fields for the Class LTI integration will now update automatically based on the selected LMS
    • Admin users now have the ability to edit Class settings and manage Class rosters from for all Classes that have been created in their instance

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where focus time was not being counted when a user was sharing their screen;
  • Fixed an issue where instructors were showing up unverified intermittently
  • Fixed an issue where files and activities do now show up under Current Activities in the web sidebar
  • Fixed an issue that was resulting in high device memory usage
  • Resolved an issue where copying an element in the Class Whiteboard only works once
  • Resolved an issue that was preventing the Class Demo experience from being used with the student view selected

Known Issues

  • Username/identity mismatches in macOS 11.X
  • Local recording files are being converted to audio-only
  • User may intermittently get ‘stuck’ on the Connecting screen
  • User may see “No Recent Activity” in Proctoring Screenshots
  • User may crash while joining BORs when using macOS 11.x
  • Mute all and clear reactions button in sidebar don’t work in demo class
  • Breakout Rooms are not sorted numerically
  • [LTI] Course sessions can overlap the same date/time
  • Sidebar and gallery reactions inconsistent [all platforms]
  • “Delete” available for courses created by other instructors, not available for own courses
  • User in Warsaw Poland having issue scheduling class session for next day
  • No messaging in Class app for underpowered computers trying to use background images
  • Whiteboard Copy to clipboard as PNG does not work
  • Whiteboard Actions > Copy only works one time on an object
  • More than one of the same Whiteboard image (PNG) does not persist when switching between whiteboard pages

  • Creating a Class from Existing Meeting creates a new meeting not associated with the existing ID
  • Students are bypassing the waiting room despite Zoom and Class settings
  • Unable to open Google Course Kit assignments in Canvas
  • Zoom Recordings not showing in Moodle LTI
  • Students in Class are missing from Chat, Proctor, Participants Panel, Etc
  • Web/Class App not displaying full chat messages when viewing Breakout chat
  • Teaching tools launched in breakout rooms fail to relaunch if left open when breakout rooms are closed
  • Reflex method not supported in Android WebView
  • Co-Teachers cannot launch additional courses
  • Not having Host Permissions/Abilities when launching via Brightspace LTI
