Overview
This release is part of a series of updates that will be made available on a weekly basis through mid-August to ensure that you, your instructors and staff, and your learners have a successful fall with Class.
Enhancements
Seating Chart
- Updates were made to optimize the performance of the Classroom gallery view and seating chart modes
Launch & Install Workflow
- Links to recordings of Class sessions will now populate directly within the list of Class sessions shown through the Class LTI tool
- The launch and install pages will now provide the latest version of the macOS app (v2.5+) rather than the legacy app (v2.4) and a separate install link will be provided for those that are on macOS v10 or lower
Bug Fixes
Below are the high-priority bug fixes included in this release:
- Fixed an issue where users were not automatically muted when a video was launched using the Play Video tool
- Fixed an issue where certain URLs were returning a “URL not valid” error with the Browse the Web tool
- Fixed several issues related to navigating Chat threads
- Fixed an issue where the minutes for a Class session were not displaying correctly on invitation emails
- Fixed an issue that was preventing Classes from being created in the US MST timezone
- Resolved an issue that was preventing the Template management screen from displaying
- Fixed an issue that was allowing participants to add and remove Whiteboard pages when instructors had disabled that option
Known Issues
Breakout rooms
- Issues with Zoom users returning from a breakout room showing as unverified
- Instructor is not able to see the chat thread for a breakout room after joining and leaving it
- Intermittent issues with the “more” button in breakout rooms being unresponsive on the sidebar
- Issues with duplicate users showing as unverified when using breakout rooms
- Issues with users getting unverified when joining and leaving a breakout room
- Issue where the Host/Co-Host labels in the Participant list disappear when breakout rooms are launched
Chat
- Issues with chat not navigating the user to the newest message
Class Mgmt
- Issues with bulk roster upload
Demo class
- Demo class is not available in the new macOS build
Localization
- Mistranslations for professor, trainer, and teacher role names
- Mute All and Verify All not visible in Spanish translated application
- In Spanish translation of the applciation, the label for Absent participants is missing
- Japanese translation of application has incorrect labels for breakout room chat threads
LTI
- Editing a class from an LMS does not refresh the page with the updated class details
- Changes to to a user’s role from an LMS do not reflect in Class
- Issues with host instructor losing privileges when launching through LTI
- Issues with Zoom Cloud Recording Links not displaying in the LMS
- Issues with LTI verification not properly parsing the username
Screen recording
- When automatic recording is enabled, the recording status bar is not currently displayed
Settings
- Statistics in the Zoom settings window are currently missing
Virtual backgrounds and filter
- Currently there is no option to select a “Blur” filter for your virtual background
General use
- Installing Class invalidates the Zoom SSO token, users navigating to their organizations zoom.us domain will be required to log in again
