Overview & Highlights
This update introduces enhancements to Lose Focus Tracking when used in conjunction with Browse the Web, as well as several bug fixes.
Zoom SDK Version: 2.9.5
Enhancements
Lose Focus Tracking & Browse the Web
Up until now, Class for Web users were tracked as having lost focus when they are viewing Class content that’s launched in a new tab or window through the Browse the Web tool. We have now updated the behavior from using focus tracking to use window visibility tracking on Class for Web. Window visibility checks for the Class application window to be minimized or another tab to be active in order to determine if a user has “lost focus.” Please note, there is a 10-second delay for the “lost focus” flag to be activated across platforms, so if a user navigates away to a different window or tab and returns within 10 seconds, they will not be recorded as having lost focus.
Participant List
Instructors will now have the ability to sort participants in the participant list by first name and last name.
Bug Fixes
Below are the high-priority bug fixes included in this release:
- Class sessions that were being run in non-English languages were triggering the creation of a “Main Classroom” breakout room. This issue has now been resolved as of v2.13.0.
- An issue with launching the Class Whiteboard while a session was being recorded was identified and resolved internally. This is being included in release notes in the event that customers may have experienced this issue on an earlier version of Class.
- As part of an ongoing continuous improvement effort, the Class team has been conducting additional testing the with Dashboard report and has addressed several issues with this release that were reported internally. This is being included in release notes in the event that customers may have experienced this issue on an earlier version of Class. Customers are encouraged to notify members of the product support team if any inconsistencies are identified with these exports.
- On Chromebook devices, users no longer see the option to blur their background or choose a background image as these options are not supported on Android devices. Parity matrix will be updated accordingly.

- Users are intermittently being asked to rejoin audio when entering/exiting BOR
- In some instances, unverified users can see Screen Share content
- In some instances, LMS pages do not launch
- In some instances, instructors are unable to mute students
- Some content launched through the Browse the Web tool and all web-based files launched through Share Files must be opened in an external tab; this will impact the Focus Time tracking for participants in the session
- Annotations and Remote Control are not available as part of the suite of Screen Share tools based on the limitations of the Zoom Web SDK
- The Participation View seating chart mode is not currently implemented in the web experience
- In some cases, Webapp users are prompted only to join Breakout Group 1 when “allow participants to choose” is selected
