Release Notes

Proctor View/Collaboration View:

• Admin users will be able to disable or enable Proctor View/Collaboration View for organizational use
• Instructors and TAs can initiate proctoring mode and invite students to share their screens. Once accepted, they will be able to see a snapshot of their screen taken approximately every five seconds. They will be able to page through a view of their students and their respective screens for everyone currently in the class session
• Instructors and TAs will be able to end proctoring for all students or specific students
• Students will be able to accept or reject the proctor request. Once accepted, they will be able to share their screens with instructors and TAs
• Students may exit an active proctoring session, which will notify their instructors

Included below are the enhancements we have made to features currently existing in Class for Windows.

Seating Charts

• Improved seating charts to more easily view the active speaker

Included below are the fixes that were made to address known issues or to improve the overall stability of the product.

General

• Fixed an issue where users couldn’t bypass the username installer section unless Class was run as administrator
• Fixed an issue where audio and mic did not work
• Fixed an issue when app crashed due to insufficient memory despite having enough
• Fixed an issue where the redirect for SSO login stayed at blank screen
• Fixed an issue where app requests app permissions upon app update
• Fixed an issue where Class UI does not scale properly
• Fixed an issue where the installer doesn’t have a command line option to permanently suppress the update pop-up
• Fixed an issue where teachers recognized as students at Class home page
• Fixed an issue where Admit All button no longer appeared

LMS

• Fixed an issue where launching class via LMS would show a white screen
• Fixed an issue where the navigation bar was missing when launching the LMS in Teaching Tools
• Fixed an issue where record button caused a crash when class launched from LMS
• Fixed an issue where the link to download Class from the LMS was not downloading Class

Teaching tools

• Fixed an issue where Bulk roster upload on Windows does not do anything
• Fixed an issue where Dashboard does not load when using supported language for OS
• Fixed an issue where Roster gave error when primary OS language is set to Italian

Breakout rooms

• Fixed an issue where the Class app would crash when launching breakout rooms

Included below are the open issues that our team is actively working to address. An updated list of known issues will be published with our next release.

General

• Class information “Copy All” does not work while screen sharing 
• Users receive no notification when downloading files
• Users cannot set or preview their Virtual Background while their video is turned off
• Intermittent crashes with the application, including during active breakout rooms
• When clicking on the Class icon while it is already open, Class tries to relaunch and throws an error 
• Closing the Windows app logs users out of their accounts
• Invite link failing to launch Class
• Unable to right-click to copy or paste text
• Students invited via roster are not verified upon entering Class
• Users will not be able to switch between school domains in Class without first clearing their cache
• Drag and Drop functionality is not working in Share Files
• Students cannot connect to meeting when using SAML meeting authentication
• Edited name in the roster does not display in sidebar or video tile
• Intermittently, the web sidebar link is not sent in chat
• Unverified users are able to communicate with verifies students
• Sign In page navigates users to the Zoom.us page Instead of Class home login
• New Courses in Moodle Default to the Topics course format Instead of the CFZ Theme
• Test activity incorrectly labeled as Quiz when selecting to preview results
• Inaccuracies with student submission times
• The button to close an assessment or grading report for an instructor or TA does not work when selecting the initial time

Breakout Rooms

• Issue with an activity sent to a specific breakout room appear in all rooms
• Updating the Chat permissions in a Class opens an All Breakout Rooms tab even though breakout rooms are not opened
• Instructors are unable to join Breakout Rooms from Participant Panel or All Breakout Rooms tab

Localization

• Windows Breakout Room is mislabeled in Japanese
• Settings screen is in English when running the application in Japanese
• Missing Spanish translations when annotating
• Various issues with the Russian translation of the application

Screen Recording

• Selecting local recording sometimes does not work

Screen Sharing 

• Advanced Screen Share menu is missing role names
