Version 2.5.11 —  September 1, 2022


This release is part of a series of updates that will be made available on a weekly basis through September to ensure that you, your instructors and staff, and your learners have a successful fall with Class.


Screen Share
  • Added improved support for Screen Share performance on devices that do not meet Zoom’s recommended minimums for hardware specifications
  • Instructor / TAs may now lock whiteboard images to let learners add changes on top of the locked image
Feedback surveys
  • Survey results now update in real-time

Bug Fixes

Below are the high-priority bug fixes included in this release:

  • Fixed a bug where some users in institutions with additional domains cannot enter the Class app
  • Fixed a bug where survey questions would be skipped when students select an answer
  • Fixed a bug where users saw an error when previewing an assessment
  • Addressed an issue where instructors cannot resume recording after returning from breakout room
  • Addressed an issue where Windows instructors were being removed from the class when screen sharing
  • Addressed an issue where an instructor froze and crashed when co-host shared screen

Known Issues

Breakout rooms
  • Instructor is not able to see the chat thread for a breakout room after joining and leaving it
  • Intermittent issues with the “more” button in breakout rooms being unresponsive on the sidebar
  • Issue where the Host/Co-Host labels in the Participant list disappear when breakout rooms are launched
Screen recording
  • Local recordings are only stored in the default location: C:Users<username>DocumentsZoom
General use
  • Installing Class invalidates the Zoom SSO token, users navigating to their organizations domain will be required to log in again
