Version 2.5.12 —  September 15, 2022

Overview

This release is part of a series of updates that will be made available on a weekly basis through September to ensure that you, your instructors and staff, and your learners have a successful fall with Class.

This release includes several performance optimizations across the app. These updates are designed to improve performance in large Class sessions and with devices that do not meet Zoom’s recommended hardware specifications.

Enhancements

Whiteboard
  • Creating a new whiteboard page now is labeled as ‘new page’

Bug Fixes

Below are the high-priority bug fixes included in this release:

  • Fixed a bug where an instructor doesn’t see the edit buttons / roster elements on the class schedule
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes instructors are unable to add users to the roster
  • Fixed a bug where the absent student list didn’t show up
  • Addressed an issue where Instructors can’t resume recording after returning from breakout rooms
  • Addressed an issue where the buttons for Screen Recordings are missing from the UI in some instances

Known Issues

Breakout rooms
  • Instructor is not able to see the chat thread for a breakout room after joining and leaving it
  • Intermittent issues with the “more” button in breakout rooms being unresponsive on the sidebar
  • Issue where the Host/Co-Host labels in the Participant list disappear when breakout rooms are launched
Screen recording
  • Local recordings are only stored in the default location: C:Users<username>DocumentsZoom
General use
  • Installing Class invalidates the Zoom SSO token, users navigating to their organizations zoom.us domain will be required to log in again
