Proctor View

  • Admins can change terminology settings for Proctor View to Collaborate View in the admin portal.
  • Any Instructor or TA can activate Proctor View
  • Proctor is a new seating chart option.
  • A screenshot is taken of the student’s screen every 5 seconds.
  • Proctor view is currently not recordable.
  • Proctor view is visible to the instructor that launched it and any other instructors and assistants in the class.

1.

Instructors will navigate to the Proctor icon on the bottom toolbar. Once selected, a popup window will appear allowing the instructor to specify which learners to invite to proctor view. The instructor can go back later to add additional learners.

Invite All Learners

1.

  • Select ‘Request to view all screens‘ to view all of the learners’ screens, or select ‘Request to view primary screen‘ to only view the learners’ primary screen.
  • Select ‘Select All‘ to see all learners’ screens and then select Start.

Learners receive an invitation to accept or decline to share their screen. To share, learners will select Share Screen.

Learners will receive a notification on the top right of their application that proctoring has been enabled.

4.

  • If a learner joins late or gets disconnected and has not received the request for proctor view, they will appear with a “Invite to proctor view” button.
  • If a learner declines the invitation, they will appear with a “Request again” button
  • If a learner accepts the invite, the instructor can view their screen

If a learner accepts the invite, the instructor can view their screen.

*Private discussions and full-screen mode are not yet available

Invite Select Learners

1.

  • Select ‘Request to view all screens‘ to view all of the learners’ screens, or select ‘Request to view primary screen‘ to only view the learners’ primary screen.
  • Multi-select learners from the list to invite, or search learners by name to select, and then select Start.

If a learner accepts the invite, the instructor can view their screen. Please note that a screenshot is taken every 5 seconds.

Use the Proctor view icon to Invite more learners, Invite all learners or End Proctor View for All

When the Proctor view icon and Invite more learners is selected a window opens to allow the instructor to select additional learners. The instructor will click Start to start Proctor View for the additional learners.

The instructor will see the invitation has been sent to the learner. 

End Proctoring for One Learner

1.

Click on the red X to end for an individual.

2.

A popup will say “You won’t be able to see this student’s screen anymore”. Select ‘End‘.

3.

Proctor’s view ended for one learner. The instructor is prompted to request again.

End Proctoring for All Learners

1.

Click the Proctor view icon to open the menu and end proctoring for all.

2.

A popup message will ask the instructor to confirm to end proctoring for all learners. Select End

3.

After ending proctoring for all learners, the instructor is brought back to Gallery View. 

4.

Learners receive a notification that the proctor view has ended and the instructor is unable to see their screen anymore.

Live Proctor View

Instructors on the native Windows or Mac app have the ability to view a live video feed of learners’ screens while using Proctor/Collaboration View. This can be activated by expanding the feed of a learner who has accepted the sharing request, at which point the static screenshots will be replaced by a streaming video feed. Instructors can also annotate over a learner’s screen and request remote control access while viewing this live feed.
