Version 1.25 — February 1, 2023


This update includes critical bug fixes and improvements.

Zoom SDK Version: 2.9.5


Below are the improvements that are being made available as part of this release.

  • Available for all users:
    • The Class Whiteboard now supports the ability to upload PDF documents and use annotation controls over the document
    • The error messaging and content for the Class launch flow has been updated in several cases to provide users with greater clarity on next steps to be taken should they run into an error while joining a Class session
  • Available for instructors and assistants:
    • Instructors now have the ability to hide individual chat messages from being seen in public threads
    • Instructors now have the ability to sort instructional tools by alphabetical and reverse alphabetical order
  • Available for admins:
    • Admin users now have the ability to enable and disable the Share Files tool
    • Links for several LMS tools in the Class demo experience have been updated to point to Class’ demo instances for the corresponding LMS
    • Setup guidance and configuration fields for the Class LTI integration will now update automatically based on the selected LMS
    • Admin users now have the ability to edit Class settings and manage Class rosters from for all Classes that have been created in their instance

Bug Fixes

Below are the high-priority bug fixes included in this release:

  • Fixed a bug that was preventing support case submissions from being submitted from Class for Web
  • Resolved an issue where copying an element in the Class Whiteboard only works once
  • Resolved an issue that was preventing the Class Demo experience from being used with the student view selected

Known Issues

  • Proctoring screenshots are not updated for a web app instructor
  • Users are intermittently being asked to rejoin audio when entering/exiting BOR
  • In some instances, unverified users can see Screen Share content
  • In some instances, LMS pages do not launch
  • In some instances, instructors are unable to mute students
  • Some content launched through the Browse the Web tool and all web-based files launched through Share Files must be opened in an external tab; this will impact the Focus Time tracking for participants in the session
  • Annotations and Remote Control are not available as part of the suite of Screen Share tools based on the limitations of the Zoom Web SDK
  • The Participation View seating chart mode is not currently implemented in the web experience
  • In some cases, Webapp users are prompted only to join Breakout Group 1 when “allow participants to choose” is selected
