How do you train every branch the same way when they’re hundreds of miles apart?

Veridian Credit Union has 32 branches and about 1,100 employees across Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota. Its farthest branch is 277 miles from headquarters. In this ATD fireside chat, Sarah Collins, Manager of Learning and Development at Veridian, and Daniel Hansen, VP of Corporate Learning at Class, talk about how Veridian moved from travel-heavy training to live virtual sessions. Since the switch, Veridian has delivered more than 770 hours of instruction to 552 participants and cut an estimated 276 hours of travel. Sarah explains how her team did it in three areas:

  1. Consistency across branches: Bringing learners from every market into one session, so everyone hears the same message from the same instructor.
  2. Engagement in live sessions: Using polls, breakouts, role-play, and real-time visibility to keep learners participating, not half listening.
  3. Measuring what worked: Pairing assessments and post-session surveys with on-the-job follow-up to show the training worked.

This session is ideal for L&D leaders at credit unions, banks, and other organizations with many locations that want to deliver consistent, engaging training without the cost of travel.
